WAUPUN — CWC held its annual meeting Tuesday to vote on the future additions to the CWC campus. The “Diamond Legacy Vision expansion project” was planned by the CWC Board of Directors and the Diamond Legacy Team, citing the need for an expanded educational facility and sports complex to meet growing enrollment. CWC members at the annual meeting voted 115-1 in favor of the nearly $17 million plan.
“This vote stands as another historical step in the life of Central Wisconsin Christian,” stated Director of Advancement Gregg Zonnefeld. “The Legacy Vision is an all-encompassing expansion that will touch every student at CWC both now and for generations to come, expanding to meet the needs of students now and in the foreseeable future with Christ-centered education.”
The four-phase plan includes several new additions to the CWC building for desperately needed new classrooms for elementary, middle, and high school. The plan also has a revamped athletic complex, notably including a runner’s track and baseball stadium.
“It is humbling to see our school community united in their desire to move forward to carry out our mission, but also to recognize our complete dependence on God to do this together,” stated CWC Administrator Mark Buteyn. “This is not just about next week or next year, this is about providing quality education to help prepare kids to make a difference in God’s Kingdom for many years to come.”
The middle school expansion—which broke ground earlier this spring—will be ready for use by August of this year, and other classroom additions are expected to be complete by the fall semester of 2023.
