WAUPUN — REACH Waupun moved to a new facility last month, offering more space and amenities for the students involved in the program.

REACH was established in 2015 and moved around a few times before settling in the second shopfront in Todd and Christine Snow’s former law office building. However, last fall the Snows began the process of selling the building and told REACH that they needed to find a new location by the end of the year.

“We were very fortunate to have Todd Snow rent to us for several years,” said Jayne Harmsen, the director of REACH Waupun. “Him and Christine have been so generous to the REACH program.”

The new location is the east office at the intersection of Harris Ave and Main St, which is owned by Glenn DeVries.

“We found out about it by coincidence and it ended up being the perfect place for us,” Jayne said. “It’s a nice fit with all the different amenities it has, perfect location, great parking, and just some separation for the kids and mentors. We can accommodate a lot of people here, and several mentors and mentees at once. It’s just a great location.”

Along with offering more space than the previous facility, it has dividers and walls between the rooms which provides more space for students to hang around in. They have separate sections for games, watching TV, a homework work area, and a small STEM and crafts lab for remote students. The facility also has a kitchenette and eating area which students can learn how to make basic foods and eat snacks. They also have an air hockey table and miniature basketball hoop.

REACH Waupun will be hosting their second annual bowling fundraiser at Jud-son’s on February 17th, with slots still open for new teams to register. REACH is also still accepting raffle baskets for the fundraiser.
