WAUPUN — The long awaited Main Street Bistro & Bakery held its official grand opening Friday afternoon. The event was attended by a large crowd including members of the Waupun business community, City Council and staff, and the organizers of Envision Greater Fond du Lac.

Main Street Bistro & Bakery is located at 7 W Main Street in the former Goose Shot building. They serve a menu of breakfast and lunch items along with a large fresh baked goods selection. Last month the owners, Todd and Shae Cupery, were interviewed by Waupun Pioneer

“I feel very honored and blessed to be a part of this town,” Shae said in her ribbon cutting speech. “I’m a Texan, true in heart and I can’t forget that, but the state of Wisconsin and the city of Waupun has really become a part of my heart.”

“When we got started one of the things everyone told us is how hard it would be to find good help,” Shae said. “ I don’t have the words to say how good of help we found. All I can say is that they are a gift from God, every single one of them. This is only a part of our amazing team here, but I can’t wait for you to have the opportunity to meet all of them because they’re awesome.”

Shae then turned the mic over to her husband and co-owner Todd Cupery. Todd previously ran Big Todd’s Pizza in downtown Waupun before moving to Texas to be with Shae, but returned to Waupun a few years ago where the idea of opening another restaurant became reality.

“I just wanted to thank you guys for coming out here,” Todd said. “We had no idea that this many people would come out today. And just for the welcome back and the support that I’ve gotten has been amazing. We really really appreciate it.”

Envision Director Joe Venhuizen gave a short speech congratulating the Cupery’s in starting the Bistro, followed by the cutting of the ribbon.

Following the ribbon cutting attendees were invited to try samples of the baked goods menu.
