Mayor’s Column April 25, 2026
Rohn Bishop, Mayor of Waupun

Hello Waupun,

On Tuesday night, Clerk Angie Hill swore me in for my new term as mayor. Thank you Waupun for your continued support. Waupun has momentum and I’m excited for what the next three years will hold as we continue to be one of Wisconsin’s most talked about small cities.

On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to sit in on and watch the mock crash at the Waupun High School. Thank you to the Waupun Fire Department, the Waupun Police Department, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and Lifestar Ambulance for participating in this important event for our students. Thank you to principal Julie Schmidt and her team at the Waupun Junior Senior High School for prioritizing an experience this important for our students to be a part of, and a special thank you to our guest speakers for sharing your gut renching story with our kids. Hopefully, this event will help save lives!

Coming up! Envision Greater Fond du Lac and the Waupun Business Alliance are hosting a Waupun Area Job Fair on Thursday, May 7, from 1:30 to 4:00 at the Waupun Community Center on McKinely Street. This free event connects local employers with job seekers in a centralized location. If you or someone you know is looking for a good family sustaining job, this is a great opportunity. Some of the participating companies are Tenneco, Dept. of Corrections, SSM, Eagle, and many more.

Today, Saturday, April 23 is The Joe ‘Schmoes Comedy Improv show, presented by Waupun Fine Arts, and is taking place at the Waupun City Hall Auditorium. Doors open at 6pm with the show at 7. A fast-paced improv show, much like the show “Who’s Line is it Anyway” makes for an enjoyable Saturday night. Tickets are sold at the door for $15 and helps to support Waupun Fine Arts.

Tuesday at 1pm will be my monthly visit to the Waupun Community Center for my listening session. As always, I’ll give a city update and then take questions. I believe this month’s guest with me will be Judge Todd Snow who will explain what he does as our Municipal Court Judge.

Thank you,
Mayor Rohn
