Fox Lake to hold groundbreaking ceremony for new Clausen Park amenities

FOX LAKE — After several years of planning, the City of Fox Lake will be hosting a groundbreaking ceremony for new amenities to Clausen Park.

The City of Fox Lake sent out a release this week announcing the time and date for the event.

The ceremony will be held at the Clausen Park Tower at 1PM on Friday April 19, 2024. In case of rain the ceremony will be moved to the Community Center at 248 E State St.

New amenities to the park include an expanded playground, new fishing piers, a new ADA kayak launch, expanded sidewalks, renovated launch piers, expanded parking, and a new restroom building on the west side of the park.

“Please join us for a brief ceremonial groundbreaking for the Clausen Park project. There will be featured speakers, photo opportunities and ice cream!” the announcement says.
