Mayor’s Column March 31st, 2023
Rohn Bishop, Mayor of Waupun

Hello Waupun!

On Wednesday, Senator Dan Feyen and Representative Michael Schraa hosted a Waupun budget listening session at the Waupun City Hall. About 20 folks turned out and we had a good discussion about the issues impacting Waupun, including shared revenues, MSP Payments, staffing shortages at the prisons, and even the Milwaukee Brewers. I want to thank them both for making themselves available and taking Waupun’s issues seriously.

This past Winter/Spring has become the 12th snowiest on record. This means our DPW crew has been out plowing and salting a lot, including overnights and on weekends. If you see any of the DPW guys out and about, please thank them for all their efforts this Winter to keep our city streets clear.

Bulk pickup is this week!

The city parks will be opening late this year. Traditionally, we open the parks on April 1, but the weather isn’t being very cooperative. Once we start having overnight lows that are a bit warmer the park shelters will be unlocked.

City hall will be closed on Friday in observance of Good Friday.

Thank you and God Bless,
Mayor Rohn
