WAUPUN — The Waupun Horseshoe League held their end of the season tournament and party at West End Park Wednesday evening. In addition to a friendly tournament between the members, the Horseshoe League purchased subs from Jimmy Johns and other snacks for the party. Mayor of Waupun Rohn Bishop was also in attendance.
The Waupun Horseshoe League plays weekly at Waupun’s West End Park during the summer. Their schedule is Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm from the middle of June to the end of August.
“Everyone is just here for a good time,” said Julio Parenteau, the organizer of the Waupun Horseshoe League. “It’s not cutthroat and we don’t do it for the money. We put some money together for an end of the year party since it’s all about the fun.”
The Horseshoe League will hold a meeting at the end of April to plan for next summer. Those who are interested in joining are encouraged to attend. There is enough space for four more teams next year.
