WAUPUN — The Waupun Hockey Association hosted their annual Hockey Alumni Game Friday evening, pitting four generations of Waupun Hockey Alumni against each other in a fundraiser game.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to Bret Grant, a long-time Waupun resident who was diagnosed with cancer recently. The game was prefaced with a prayer led by Corey Ruis, with the entire team praying around Grant on the ice.
Hockey Association president Tyler Loomans also spoke before the game, thanking everyone for attending and giving an update on the fundraising progress for the new ice rink floor.
Pink Out the Rink, an annual fundraiser to help locals cover costs in fighting breast cancer, was held the next day.
