WAUPUN — The Waupun Business Alliance held their second annual business community golf outing at The Rock Golf Club all day Tuesday.

The event was put on by Envision Greater Fond du Lac which is the parent organization to the Waupun Business Alliance. The Business Alliance is the successor to the Waupun Chamber of Commerce which was dissolved late last year in favor of the new organization.

The Waupun Business Alliance first opened their doors in December of last year but was already in the beginning stages earlier in the year. Envision held their first Waupun Golf Outing in September last year in association with the Chamber.

This year’s Golf Outing was attended by about 100 people in 24 teams from members of the Waupun business community and municipal government.

“We’re super pleased with the turnout and all the community support,” said Jillian Saiberlich, who serves as Envision’s membership coordinator. “It’s great seeing a lot of communities for business owners coming together. We had business owners from Fond du Lac, Waupun, and Rosendale.”

The Outing was sponsored by several local businesses including Saputo, Homan Auto, Horicon Bank, Jimmy Johns, Waupun National Exchange Bank, and Destination Lake Winnebago Region Visitors Bureau. Organizations were also able to sponsor individual holes with 24 total sponsorships.

“A lot of people met new faces, and a lot of our hole sponsors were actually at their hole so it was actually a good way for us to interact with all the golfers and spread the word about their business and what they do,” Saiberlich said.

The outing teed off at 10AM and went until 4PM when they held the awards ceremony for a number of hole-based challenges and the raffle.

“It’s good to see the business community of Waupun come out, interact with each other, and have a lot of fun,” said Envision vice president Joe Venhuizen following the awards ceremony. “It was a great crowd, and it was good networking for the business community.”

“Beautiful weather, beautiful day, fun event; that’s what I thought,” Venhuizen added.

The event wrapped up at about 5PM with socialization following the group photo.

Last March the Waupun Business Alliance held their first annual meeting at The Rock banquet hall to kick off the newly established organization.
