WAUPUN — The Waupun Police Department acknowledged local officers and law enforcement workers for their work in keeping the Waupun community safe, including awarding several officers for exemplary service and training.
The list includes awards from the fourth quarter of 2022, which included five Life Saving Awards, a Commendation Award, two Training Instructor Pins, a Military Veteran Pin, a K9 Officer Pin, and a Field Training Officer Pin.
Earlier this week the Police Department acknowledged the work that local law enforcement does for Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, which is annually observed on January 9th.
The list of awards presented to Waupun officers can be found below.
Life Saving Award – Officer Annie Cedarquist and Officer Jackson Hague – On 11/2/22, Officer Cedarquist and Officer Hague responded to a residence on E Lincoln St for a report of a male subject who possibly overdosed. Officer Cedarquist administered medical attention and CPR to a 24 year old man. Officer Hague administered medical attention and Narcan to the man. The patient ultimately survived due in part to both officers’ actions.
Life Saving Award – Officer Trevor Kreitzman and Lieutenant Joe Pfalzgraf – On 10/4/22, Officer Kreitzman responded to a missing autistic child complaint. Lieutenant Pfalzgraf and Fond du Lac County Deputy Olson also responded and assisted with the search of the child. The child was ultimately located by a citizen in the Rock River at Harris Mill Park, but the citizen could not reach the child. With the quick response by all officers the child was retrieved from the river and brought to safety, presumably saving the child’s life.
