WAUPUN — The Waupun Hockey Association held another Alumni Hockey Game, pitting big-time Waupun hockey families Team Gysbers and Team Buchholz in another huge match.

Events like these are important to the Hockey Association both as a fundraising opportunity and being a part of the community. The Waupun Hockey Association is currently fundraising to replace the aging Community Center floor, which they approached the Waupun City Council about last October.

The concession stand was open along with a table with sauerkraut roadkill, 1/3lb burgers, brats, and beer. As part of the fundraiser effort the Hockey Association held a “chuck-a-puck” game and a 50/50 raffle. The Hockey Association also honored Don Mulder with a plaque for his years of dedication to Waupun Hockey.

Mayor of Waupun Rohn Bishop dropped the ceremonial first puck. Final score was 8-5 with Team Gysbers (gold) triumphing over Team Buchholz (black).
