WAUPUN — The Waupun Rotary Club held a 100th anniversary celebration at Waupun’s historic City Hall Auditorium last Saturday. The event included live music, raffles, and beer tasting.
The beer tasting included drinks from brands such as 3 Sheeps, Central Waters Brewery, Good City, Hinterland, Hubbleton, Knuth Brewing, MKE Brewing, Ooga Brewing Company, Third Space, and Wind & Unwind.
According to a release from Kate Burk, the president of the Waupun Rotary Club, “proceeds from this event will go towards funding scholarships for local high school students and supporting projects within the Waupun community such as the All Abilities Playground, In-School Mental Health Clinic, providing Hot Meals for our community and more.”
The celebration was open to the public and was notably attended by Mayor of Waupun Rohn Bishop, Fond du Lac County Supervisor Jon Venhuizen, and Dodge County Circuit Court Judge Kristine Snow.
The Rotary Club is a community service and fellowship organization part of Rotary International. The Waupun Chapter of the Rotary Club is the third oldest chapter in the state and currently has 17 members that meet twice a month at The Rock Golf Club.
“Our club membership comes from many different community members either actively working or retired, we are always welcoming new members,” Burk told WPN. “Past projects of our club have been serving at the community table, donating funds to various projects within the community most recently the MVP access for recess campaign, purchasing and shopping for the Judge Klossner’s Kids program during the holidays, and assisting with the local holiday help program among other things.”
