Community invited to donate blood at SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital Blood Drive on August 18
WAUPUN — Local blood supplies typically decline during the summer months as many community members travel or focus on family activities.
To help replenish the blood supply, SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital (620 W. Brown Street) invites community members to donate blood from 11 am to 2 pm on Tuesday, August 18.
The ImpactLife Blood Drive will be held in the hospital’s Marsh Conference Room. SSM Health caregivers and community members alike are encouraged to participate and help support community members in need of donated blood.
Walk-ins and first-time donors are welcome. Donors should bring a valid photo ID. To prepare for donating blood, participants are encouraged to:
• Eat a nutritious dinner the night before, including foods rich in iron and protein, such as eggs, meat, leafy greens, and fruit.
• Get at least eight hours of sleep the night prior.
• Eat a hearty breakfast and stay well hydrated throughout the day.
• Ensure they have not donated blood elsewhere since June 23, 2026 to remain eligible to donate.
