Mayor’s Column Februrary 21, 2026
Rohn Bishop, Mayor of Waupun

Hello Waupun,

This week I will be out in Washington, D.C. lobbying on behalf of Waupun and Waupun Utilities. It’s a great opportunity to talk to Congressman Grothman, Senator Johnson, and Senator Baldwin about important issues that our city and utility deal with. It’s important to have a good working relationship with both our state and federal elected officials, because decisions they make can affect us all. While I’m out there, President Trump will be giving his State of the Union Address, so it really should be an interesting visit!

Here in Waupun the Common Council will meet on Tuesday, with Council President Dan Siebers presiding. Also, with my absence I will not be attending the monthly “Mayor Update” at the Community Center. I will return on the final Tuesday of March.

I am excited to announce that the Waupun Public Library received a $10,000 gift from the Carnegie Foundation of New York, in celebration of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. I look forward to all the cool ways to celebrate America’s 250th with the library.

Thank you and God Bless,
Mayor Rohn
