WAUPUN — After 36 years of dedicated service to Marten’s Farm and Home, Linda has decided to retire. During her years at Farm and Home she has seen 3 owners and many changes to the store. She specialized in the paint department and helped many customers with their painting needs. When people didn’t know her name they often refered to her as the paint lady. She was always available to help the undecided with options for colors and any other questions they may have.
Linda was much more than just the paint lady. Over the years she gained an overall expertise in the operation of the entire store. She was alway availale to help customers in whatever their needs were. She operated as an unofficial manager for many years of her career. She never wanted to go to a salaried postion because of the additional hours required, but performed many of the responsibilities of a manager.
LInda has plans to spend additional time with her grandchilden and following them in their sports. With 5 grandchildren that is almost a full time job. Linda and her husband Mike plan to do more traveling and hope to travel to Norway and Iceland in the near future.
Linda’s customers meant alot to her and she wants to thank them for their many years of loyalty to Farm and Home. Because of this she providing brownies for all customers coming into Farm and Home on Tuesday May 26 from 7am to 4pm. So if you get a minute stop in and say good bye to Linda and enjoy a brownie. Linda’s last day will be Friday May 30th.
