WAUPUN — Waupun Fine Arts hosted a Neil Diamond tribute concert performed by Eric “Diamond” on Saturday night.
The concert was held in the Waupun City Hall Auditorium Saturday, April 26 and sold over 200 tickets with most of the first floor seats filled and many in the balcony as well. Tickets were $10 at the door.
“It was so great to see so many of you in attendance at the Waupun City Hall ‘Neil Diamond Tribute’ with Eric Diamond last evening!” Waupun Fine Arts said in a Facebook post Sunday night. “What a great performance and great time we had!”
They also shared a message they received from Eric about the show.
“Just wanted to let you know—when I said that was the best crowd I’ve performed for in the last several months, I meant it,” he said. “I had a ridiculously good time last night. Thank you!”
Eric “Diamond” has been a Neil Diamond tribute artist for over two decades and regularly performs around Wisconsin.
Waupun Fine Arts was inspired to invite him after hearing about similar concerts he’s held in the area over the last few years. The Fine Arts Committee holds annual Concerts in the Park during the month of July, and have been looking to expand their list of events.
Also on Saturday was a lunch-time brat fry at The Wild Boar benefiting the Waupun Area Animal Shelter, which raised a total $1,512.93.
