Waupun Lions Club
March 28, 2025
WAUPUN — Members of the Waupun Lions Club had a busy but productive day on Friday, March 28. Members provided lunch for Waupun’s Community Table at the Waupun Community Center. Waupun Lion Terry Feil, owner of Feil’s Supper Club, prepared an entrée of Spaghetti and meatballs. The Lions served garlic bread which was prepared with bread donated by Jimmy John’s in Waupun. The meal was topped off with an Italian green salad as well as with various deserts.
Prior to the meal being served Waupun Lions members presented checks to several recipients in the Waupun area. They donated $3,000 to the Waupun Little League which was represented by Ryan Hopp and various other members of Little League. Kevin Faeh received a $3,000 check for Waupun Softball. Lucas Dawson of the Waupun Hockey Association was presented with a $3,000 check for that organization. Jeni Maly accepted a check for $1,000 which will go towards the purchase of the “We Can Do It/Rosie the Riveter” sculpture. Waupun’s National Rivet Company donated half the cost of the sculpture, and donations from other sources paid off the other half. Rosie will now have a permanent home in Waupun. Lastly, the Waupun Lions presented a $1,000 check to Jodie Mallas to help fund this year’s Waupun Easter Egg Hunt. All these contributions were made possible by those who generously supported and contributed to the various fundraisers held by the Waupun Lions Club.
The Waupun Lions Club supports many local projects as well as supporting the Wisconsin Lions Eye Bank, the Lions Camp in Rosholt Wisconsin, Leader Dogs and a Vision Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic. Club members also assist in transporting donated cornea tissue to provide the gift of sight to patients having cornea transplant surgery.
