WAUPUN — Thousands of kids and their families attended this year’s Halloween on Main, filling the downtown area with trick-or-treaters.
Halloween on Main is an annual trick-or-treating event held from 2PM to 4PM in Waupun’s downtown business district, stretching from the railroad tracks to the intersection of Main and Fond du Lac Street.
Several downtown businesses had trick-or-treat stands at their shops, along with Mayor Rohn Bishop in front of City Hall and the Police Department and Fire Department at the Waupun Safety Building. The Fire Department had one of their firetrucks on display for attendees to look at and explore.
Tyra Walters, who runs Firefly Giftshop and Reiki Essentials at the intersection of Madison and Main St counted 2887 people stopping at her station before running out of candy at 3:30PM.
Halloween on Main was immediately followed by citywide trick-or-treating which went from 4PM to 6PM.
