WAUPUN — Waupun celebrated their German heritage this weekend with the annual Volksfest event, held at the Waupun Ice Arena.
As is tradition, locally brewed beers were on tap, with new wine fleets. Food included fish fry, brat fry, Kiwanis pancake breakfast, and treats from Pella Lutheran. Activities included bingo, hammerschlagen, beer stein holding, and more. Newly returning was the Stumpf Fiddle contest, where participants play a beat on an unorthodox mixed instrument.
Bands included 2/5ths Party Band, Carol & The Keynotes, Gary’s Ridgeland Dutchment, and Dorf Kapelle.
This year’s Volksfest was sponsored by many local businesses and brought to you by its many hardworking volunteers.
Proceeds from last year’s Volksfest went towards replacing the ice rink floor.
