WAUPUN — Waupun rustic antique store Roadside Relics kicked off the summer season with the first of three summertime flea markets, held May 4.

Rustic Relics has hosted flea markets since 2019, and while some years were taken off, they’ve expanded and since filled the property to the brim with new and interesting stalls at every flea market.

The store is located at 10 Jackson Street next to the railroad tracks, and across the street from Modern Mercantile.

Randa Strook—the owner of Roadside Relics—started the store in 2015 because of her love for rustic items and antiques, now working with her daughter Courtney Diels. The store was originally located in downtown Waupun but moved to their current location in 2018, growing the business significantly.

Today, Roadside Relics makes most of its sales through a weekly auction livestream, held on Facebook Thursdays at 7:30PM.

But they still take advantage of the great location and property by hosting regular flea markets every summer season.

“I have quite a bit of land here and we can get as many as 50 vendors here,” Randa said. “We get people from all over, showing their crafts and the items that they like to collect. I think it’s really cool meeting specific vendors, especially if you like to see people here with vintage antiques like me.”

This month’s flea market included a total of 44 vendors with several different types of stalls, including various crafts, antiques, and even a live-demo blacksmith metalcrafts shop. Live music and a food truck selling tacos were also set up at the market.

The next Waupun Flea Market will be held on Saturday, June 1, and the final for the year on July 13. Those interested in booking a stall at a future flea market can contact Randa through her Facebook page.
