Waupun Business Alliance holds second annual banquet

WAUPUN — The Waupun Business Alliance and Envision Greater Fond du Lac held their second annual banquet at The Rock Golf Club last Thursday.

They held a networking hour from 5-5:45PM, served dinner at 6PM, and the program began at 6:45PM. It went until about 8PM with networking following the program.

Opening remarks from Joe Venhuizen, an update on Envision Greater Fond du Lac from Lisa McArthur, and an update on the City of Waupun by Kathy Schlieve. This was followed by presentation of awards, with City Awards presented by Kathy Schlieve and Mayor Rohn Bishop, Business Alliance Awards presented by Joe Venhuizen, and the Business Alliance Community Impact Award by Craig Molitor. Closing remarks were done by Joe Venhuizen.

The awards were as follows: 

Best Mixed Use Redevelopment, awarded to A&E Storage.

Best Community Development Project, awarded to Vadilo Homes.

Best Facade Improvement for 2023, awarded to Jud-son’s Bowling Alley.

2023 Legacy Awards, to Central Cable, Homan Auto, Tony’s Pizza, Ver Hage’s Furniture, and Fox Valley Savings Bank.

2023 Community Impact Award to Jeni Maly and Jodi Mallas of Waupun Ice Fest.

The event was attended by much of the Waupun business community, nonprofit leadership, and the City Council. 156 were in attendance, compared to 130 last year.
