WAUPUN — Volksfest returned for another year in the Waupun Community Center last weekend.
Volksfest is an annual celebration of the area’s German heritage, ripe with local craft beer, good food, activities, and live music. Five different bands played a mix of German and American music, with a large dance floor for attendees to polka. The Waupun High School Band also played traditional German music Saturday morning.
Mayor of Waupun Rohn Bishop poured the ceremonial first tap. Congressman Glenn Grothman was also in attendance.
This year’s Volskfest was hosted by the Waupun Hockey Association in the Waupun Community Center. Proceeds to go towards the Hockey Association “Save the Ice” fundraiser.
