WAUPUN — The Waupun Community Fund is having a Kickoff Event on Thursday, September 14 from 5 to 7pm at The Rock Golf Club in Waupun.
With their one year anniversary in July, the Waupun Community Fund wants to keep educating the Waupun Community on how they can increase funds to establish grants and other funding for innovative projects and programs that will enrich the community members lives both now and in future generations.
“Our key focus is our mission statement. The Waupun Community Fund will support vision and efforts to enhance the quality of life in the Waupun area,” said Brittany Page, advisory board member. “We want the Waupun Community to understand how the Waupun Community Fund works and how you can leave a legacy for future generations.”
The Waupun Community Fund, a fund administered within the Fond du Lac Area Foundation and has a volunteer advisory board comprised of local members who encourage the growth of the fund and oversee distributions in the form of grants. The Waupun Community Fund was established with Mike Werner’s generous donation for a parking expansion and walking path in Shaler Park, now named ‘Mike Werner Way.’
“Mr. Werner was instrumental in getting this fund set up for future projects. Now, as an advisory board, we need to educate our community and grow our fund to be able to support innovative projects in the Waupun Community,” said Page.
