Mayor’s Column February 18th, 2023
Rohn Bishop, Mayor of Waupun

Hello Waupun!

Those delicious Knights of Columbus fish frys are back! The fish is amazing, and fish fry season is a sign that Spring is near! If you’re hungry on a Friday night, I strongly recommend their fish, and in person dining is back, along with cold beer, milk, soda, and pull tabs! I hope to see you there!

I’m excited to invite you to attend the first Waupun Business Connection this Tuesday, February 21 from 4:00-6:00pm at the Warrior Innovation Center located at the Waupun Junior/Senior High School! These laid back and fun networking opportunities allow you to meet fellow Waupunites as well as to learn about Warrior Fabrication! Attendance is FREE but registration is encouraged. For more information or to register go to www.envisiongreaterfdl.com/events

Then, on Thursday, I will be attending the Envision Greater Fond du Lac Annual meeting where local Waupun business Real Sportscards will be winning the “2022 Entrepreneur of the Year Award!” Congratulations to Tom and Micelle Kulczewski on winning this prestigious award and thank you for investing in beautiful downtown Waupun! On Tuesday night, I was happy to welcome Bobbi Jo Kunz to the Waupun Common Council. Appointed to finish out the term of the late Alderperson Nancy Vanderkin, Kunz is a real estate broker at My Property Shoppe and currently the FFA Alumni President.

Last weekend I had a great time participating at the REACH Waupun bowling tournament. I’d like to thank Jason, Carly, and Dan for being on the “Mayor’s Team.” We didn’t do very good, but we had a lot of fun in support of a great cause! It was cool to see the bowling alley completely full for the event. Please check with REACH Waupun’s Facebook page for more ways you can help!

Thank you and God Bless,
Mayor Rohn
