At the funeral, Nancy was eulogized by Waupun City Attorney Dan VandeZande and Mayor of Waupun Rohn Bishop.

“I’d like to thank the Vanderkin family for sharing this celebration of Nancy’s life with all of Waupun,” Mayor Bishop said. “While this is a huge loss to you, it’s also a huge loss to this community. Nancy did so much and touched the lives of so many.”

Mayor Bishop expressed the kindness and compassion that all in the community felt from and for Nancy, acknowledging present and former officials who worked with her. He also thanked the department heads for their work to honor Nancy Vanderkin for the funeral service at City Hall.

After his speech Mayor Bishop announced an official city proclamation to extend sincere condolences to Nancy’s family for her passing. In recognition of this, city flags at Shaler Park and Waupun Utilities were flown at half-mast on the day of the funeral.
