WAUPUN — The railroad crossing on Main Street in Waupun was updated Tuesday afternoon in preparation for the coming winter season.
The Main Street railroad crossing has deteriorated over the last several years to the point of being unsafe to vehicles and pedestrians.
Earlier this year the Waupun City Council petitioned Wisconsin & Southern Railroad, the company responsible for railroad maintenance in the region, to repair the Main Street crossing.
The crossing is planned to be completely repaired next summer.
