WAUPUN — Mayor of Waupun Rohn Bishop announced last week that he is endorsing Sam Kaufman for Fond du Lac County Executive in the upcoming June 7th Special Election.
“Sam is [a] good guy with an awesome family. He has good values, and cares about Fond du Lac County. Sam will bring the same passion, work ethic, and frugalness that Alan Buechel brought to the position,” Bishop said in his press release. “I look forward to working with Sam. I know Sam well, and I’m confident we’ll work well together to help keep Waupun, and all of Fond du Lac County, a great place to live, work, and play!”
Sam Kaufman is running in a special election to replace the late Alan Buechel, who passed away earlier this spring. Alan Buechel served as Fond du Lac County Executive for twenty nine years after serving seventeen on the county board.
“I encourage people to get out and vote this week, or on June 7 for Sam Kaufman for County Executive,” Bishop added.
Rohn Bishop was elected Mayor of Waupun earlier this year. Both Bishop and Kaufman are past officers in the Republican Party of Fond du Lac County and attended a County GOP meeting held in Waupun last Wednesday.
Kaufman is currently serving his sixth year as a County Board Supervisor. Kaufman has also been endorsed by Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt, District Attorney Eric Toney, and State Representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt.
