Mayor’s Column July 26, 2025
Rohn Bishop, Mayor of Waupun

Hello Waupun,

This week, I traveled over to my second favorite city in Fond du Lac County, Ripon, for a Chamber of Commerce event at Pastimes. It was a good opportunity to learn about what’s happening in our neighboring city, do some networking, brag about Waupun, make some new friends, while catching up with some old friends.

On Tuesday afternoon at 1pm will be my monthly listening session at the Community Center. This month Representative Mark Born will be joining me to give an update on the state budget, and how it impacts Waupun. I will also be joined by Lauren Fetrow, the Executive Director from the Christian Home who can introduce herself and answer any questions the community may have about the new ownership. She will also present a donation towards the new Community Center.

As for the Christian Home, my daughter Maggie and I attended the Pie Social last weekend. I met the new leadership, got a tour, and I’m excited for what they have planned there. (Hat tip to Casey at Go Dutch for making all the delicious pies!) It’s a beautiful building with a caring staff, and I think they will be great for Waupun!

Lastly, volunteer work is continuing at the windmill at Heritage park. David Lemmenes has been doing some small repairs, cleaning, and turning it on for weekends and holidays. I would like to invest a little into that park and use the windmill as a kind of tourist information center. Stay tuned for what comes of all that!

Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!
Mayor Rohn
