Hello Waupun and Happy Father’s Day dads!
Yesterday, I participated in the annual Waupun Parks Program Fishing Tournament, where we had over 50 kiddos fishing! 31 fish were caught, with the winner being a 30-inch Northern Pike. The kids caught a few carp, too, so I’m sure Boog will be out there fishing for carp this weekend! 🙂
On Tuesday, Jace Bunkoske served as our “Mayor for the Day.” If you haven’t read the Waupun Pioneer News article about that meeting, I encourage you to do so.
Over the next few months, you’ll be seeing a lot of action at our city Plan Commission and Council meetings as we have more housing projects coming to Waupun, along with all the planned improvements to our downtown business district. And as you drive around town, you will notice that the new Dollar General Market is opening soon, as will be the new Kwik Trip East. You’ll also see the semi truck was up and running, the new Carver Flatts apartment complex being built on Bayberry Lane near HWY 26 and the new Eagle Flexible Packaging building going up in the now full business park!
Around Waupun this weekend, Midtown Market kicks off their 2025 season, Waupun American Legion is hosting a baseball tournament, the KC’s have a brat fry at the catholic church, and the County M construction project should be wrapping up! And don’t let the Detour sign downtown deter you, all the business along Madison Street are open, so go enjoy this beautiful Saturday!
