Dodge County Launches Classrooms to Careers Fund to Expand Career-Based Learning Opportunities

DODGE COUNTY — Dodge County Community Development, in partnership with the Beaver Dam Chamber & Visitor Center, is launching the new Classrooms to Careers (C2C) Fund to expand career-based learning opportunities for students throughout Dodge County.

The Classrooms to Careers Fund will be supported through private donations and will provide grant funding to school districts in Dodge County to help cover costs related to career exploration and employer-connected learning experiences.

Funding may be used to support opportunities such as:

• Employer and industry tours
• Hands-on career exploration and learning experiences
• Career-focused events and activities
• Classroom materials for employer-connected projects
• Transportation and other career-based learning expenses

The fund was created to help remove financial barriers that can limit schools’ ability to offer these experiences, giving students greater access to career exploration within their own communities.

“Today’s students are the future of Dodge County. Providing resources that connect students with real career opportunities in our communities is critical to the growth and long-term sustainability of our businesses, communities and Dodge County as a whole,” said Nate Olson, Dodge County Community Development Administrator.

By supporting career exploration at the school level, Classrooms to Careers will give students more opportunities to learn about local industries, gain hands-on experience and better understand the career pathways available to them in Dodge County.

“Strong connections between schools and local employers create valuable opportunities for students while also giving businesses a chance to engage with and inspire our future workforce,” said Tracy Propst, Executive Director of the Beaver Dam Chamber & Visitor Center. “Classrooms to Careers helps make those connections more accessible for schools across Dodge County.”
