WAUPUN — The Waupun Fine Arts Committee invited 20 artists to display their art in the “Community Exhibit” art gallery at the Waupun Public Library.

An artist reception was held Thursday, December 4, from 6PM to 7:30PM, where several of the artists showed off their work and described their inspirations and methods.

The Waupun Fine Arts Committee typically invites one artist at a time to display their art, if they have a lot of art to display after a long career. This time, they invited many local artists to display a select few of their pieces to include younger or more part-time artists.

Jenny Krajenka, a member of the Fine Arts Committee, organized the members of the exhibit, which opened on November 7.

“I’m extremely pleased with the involvement of the community,” she said. “This was a wonderful turnout for our very first community art show and for everyone who showed up for the reception. I’m wholly impressed with the talent that is in Waupun and the surrounding area.”

The community gallery will be on display on the second floor of the Waupun Public Library until January 7.

The artist reception was held from 6PM to 7:30PM Thursday, December 4.
