WAUPUN — The Waupun Lions Club is hosting a “Can of Kindness” raffle to benefit the Waupun Food Pantry next week.

The results of the raffle, as well as a full day of golfing, a 50/50 raffle, and silent auction items, will be at the 16th Annual Lions Club Golf Outing at The Rock Golf Club on Friday, June 21.

Registration for the golf outing begins at 8:30AM with play beginning at 10AM. Lunch will be provided for participants by Jimmy Johns. After golfing has completed there will be a dinner and awards ceremony.

Proceeds from the raffle will half go towards the Waupun Lions Club and the other half will go towards the Waupun Food Pantry for their summer lunch program and in purchasing equipment for the new facility at the Senior/Community Center which will complete construction this fall.

The prizes for the raffle are as follows:
1st Place: $1,000
2nd Place: $500
3rd Place: $200
4th and 5th Place: $100
6th and 7th Place: $50

The drawing will take place at 4:30PM at The Rock during the golf outing, but the winner will not be required to still be there to accept the prize. GBU Financial Life Insurance will match the amount fundraised through the raffle towards the Food Pantry benefit.

Tickets for the raffle can be purchased at Brittain House, Homan Auto in Waupun, American Family Insurance, Katie’s Log Cabin in Oakfield, The Rock Golf Club, SIA Insurance, The Other Bar, Wuapun Food Pantry, and Werner-Harmsen Furniture. Tickets will also be available during the golf outing before drawing time, and one ticket can be purchased by bringing in five items of non-perishable food.

Raffle tickets have been also sold at several events over the last month including the 4th Annual Truck/Tractor Show held May 18 and the Homan Auto Car Show held June 1.

Last year the Lions Club held a golf ball drop fundraiser where they dropped 855 balls from the top of a ladder fire truck at the golf course.
