WAUPUN — The Beaver Dam Community Band played for the second week of Waupun Fine Art’s Concerts in the Park. Summer Concerts in the Park are held annually at West End Park on Thursdays in July from 6:30 to 8PM.
The Beaver Dam Community Band is directed by Colin Galitz with band manager Mike Throndsen.
Songs they played included Star Spangled Banner, Armed Forces Salute, The Chimes of Liberty, Toccata for Band, Filum Vitae, Fate of the Gods, America the Beautiful, the Seventh Night of July, Stars and Stripes Forever, Pirates of the Caribbean Suite, On Wisconsin!
During the Armed Forces Salute they requested that former and current members of the American armed forces stand and be recognized during their branch’s anthem. Following the final song they received a standing ovation from the crowd of attendees.
The Beaver Dam Community Band will be playing another live concert next Wednesday, July 19th, at Swan park in Beaver Dam. More information can be found on their official Facebook page.
Last week classic rock cover band The Del Rays played a number of songs at the July 6th concert.
Next week Fine Arts will host The Characters, another classic rock cover band, to play at West End Park on July 20th at 6:30PM.
