WAUPUN — Classic rock cover band the Del Rays played opening night at the Fine Art Committee’s Concerts in the Park Thursday evening. The West End Park event was attended by hundreds of local residents.
The Del Rays played a variety of classic 20th century rock songs following a short introduction from Fine Arts Committee president Sue Haefmeyer and Mayor of Waupun Rohn Bishop.
Residents of SSM Health Christian Home, St. Francis Home, and Prairie Ridge Assisted Living Center were able to attend through buses.
The Waupun Fine Arts Committee is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization unaffiliated with the City of Waupun. Waupun Fine Arts relies on donations and business sponsorships from the community to bring events to the Waupun area and promote local art.
The Beaver Dam Community Band will be playing at West End Park next Thursday, July 13th. Their concert will be followed by “The Characters” on July 20th and Acoustic Grove on the 27th.
