WAUPUN — United Cooperative and the City of Waupun finalized the developer’s agreement for the upcoming soybean processing plant to be built in the Waupun Industrial Park. The United Cooperative facility project was publicly announced at the June 3rd City Council meeting and represents a total investment of $100 million.

The Waupun City Council unanimously approved the developer’s agreement and the purchase of the 67.4 acre lot to United Cooperative for the construction of the soybean processing facility. The developer agreement stipulates that the first and second phases must be completed no later than December 31st, 2024, and the third phase no later than December 31st, 2025. City Attorney Daniel VandeZande thanked Mayor Bishop, the Common Council, City Administrator Kathy Schlieve, and United Cooperative President and CEO David Cramer for their work to bring the facility to Waupun. Attorney VandeZande noted that without Administrator Schlieve’s work, the agreement between United Cooperative and Waupun would have likely not succeeded.

The developer agreement was signed by Mayor of Waupun Rohn Bishop and United Cooperative President and CEO David Cramer following the meeting.
