WAUPUN — The Waupun Historical Society announced this week the date and time for the 11th Annual Forest Mound Cemetery Walk
The Cemetery Walk is an annual Historical Society event where members portray figures from historical Waupun buried in Forest Mound—and sometimes from other historical area cemeteries as well.
This year’s Cemetery Walk will be held on Saturday, October 24, from 4:30PM to 7PM at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. The event is free-to-attend and family-friendly.
Notable historical people of Waupun being portrayed this year include Magdelene “Mamie” Redman, who grew up in Waupun and played professional women’s baseball in the 1950s, as well as George Wilcox, son of settlement founder Seymour Wilcox, and more.
Free will donations are accepted and go towards maintaining the Historical Society’s collection of artifacts and research documents.

The Waupun Historical Society is based out of the former Waupun Carnegie Library, now serving as the Waupun Heritage Museum. The museum is open Thursdays 4PM to 6PM and Saturdays 10AM to 2PM and can be toured free of charge.
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year so citywide Trick-or-Treating will be held that night—Saturday, October 31, from 4PM to 6PM.
