“Prehistoric Pets” Summer Reading Tour Visits Fox Lake and Brownsville Libraries

DODGE COUNTY — Families are invited to travel back in time and discover the living descendants of prehistoric creatures as J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue presents “Prehistoric Pets at the Library” at two Dodge County libraries on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. These free, family-friendly programs are part of local Summer Reading Programs and feature live animal encounters, hands-on learning, and fascinating lessons about evolution, adaptation, and survival.

Through interactive presentations, attendees will meet reptiles, amphibians, and other remarkable animals that share traits with species that lived during the age of dinosaurs. The program combines science, natural history, conservation, and live animal encounters to create an engaging educational experience for all ages.

The presentations will feature:

• Live animals that share traits with prehistoric species
• Hands-on learning and up-close encounters
• Fun and educational facts about evolution, adaptation, and survival
• Lessons about responsible pet ownership and animal conservation
• Opportunities for photos and questions during the presentations

“Prehistoric Pets helps families see how the ancient past is still connected to the animals we know today,” said Megan Anderson, Education Specialist at J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue. “By meeting these incredible species up close, participants can better understand evolution, conservation, and the importance of protecting wildlife.”

Designed for curious minds and animal lovers alike, the program offers a memorable way to explore the prehistoric world through the lens of living animals.
