Mayor’s Column December 6, 2025
Rohn Bishop, Mayor of Waupun

Hello Waupun!

What a beautiful night we had for the Christmas Parade! It was perfect with the light snow falling; it really gave it a festive feeling. Thank you, Santa, for lighting up the Community Christmas Tree and thank you Congressman Glenn Grothman for also attending. The parade and the tree lighting were both fun and successful, congratulations to Kelly Miller and Stephanie Starker and everyone else who volunteered for the event.

December traditionally is a slower month in government; most people are busy with Christmas and holiday season related obligations. But while it’s a quieter month for the government, it’s off to a very busy start for our Public Works Team. Usually, the guys get a break between leaf pickup and snow removal, a chance to clean the shop and turn over the equipment and prepare for winter. However, that was not the case this year. As you know, the leaves were stubborn, and then it snowed, and that was before the calendar flipped to December.

December is also a busy month in the clerk/treasurer’s office with tax season and the spring elections. So, if you see Angie, be extra nice!

Lastly, on Tuesday I was visiting the new community center. In the large room they were watching a Christmas movie with popcorn and juice, and in the gym exercising to country line dancing. That sure is a busy place and a wonderful addition to our community.

Thank you Waupun, and stay warm!
Mayor Rohn
