WAUPUN — Waupun-based jewelry store Gysbers Jewelry held an official ribbon cutting Tuesday morning for the recent expansion completed earlier this year.

The new addition was officially opened back in May, and an open house was held June 7 and 8. The “Diamond Center” will serve the community with a wide arrangement of engagement and bridal rings.

Envision Greater Fond du Lac presented an award recognizing Gysbers Jewelry for the expansion at the ribbon cutting ceremony.

“I’d just like to say thank you to the Waupun community, to Envision Greater Fond du Lac, and the surrounding communities,” said Maggie Shell, the fifth-generation owner of Gysbers Jewelry. “We’re excited for the new Bridal Center, and this year we’ll be celebrating 150 years in business and we would just like to say thank you.”

The building was purchased last year from Krista Bishop, who ran Weaving It Up To You out of the shopfront that now holds the new Gysbers Diamond Center.

Gysbers Jewelry has operated in Waupun for 150 years, with an sesquicentennial anniversary celebration to be held on Saturday, December 7.
