WAUPUN — Classic western cover band Remington’s Ride Band performed for the Waupun Fine Arts Committee’s third Concert in the Park this year.
“Remington’s Ride is a Wisconsin-based band of veteran musicians bringing the great sounds of Vintage Western Swing, roots country, Americana, rockabilly, and honky tonk to a whole new generation of music fans,” Waupun Fine Arts said in a Facebook post earlier this week.
The concert was preceded by an Ice Cream Social held by the Waupun Summer Park Program, which went from 5 to 6PM.
“We invited all of our Waupun Park and Recreation Department participants to come down for the Ice Cream Social,” said Rachel Kaminski, the director of the Waupun Recreation Department. “And this year, we did it before the concert in the park, just to bring more people down in the park and hopefully better the concert. It’s an appreciation to our participants from the senior center to the park program to anyone who supports the rec department.”
The ice cream was contributed by Culver’s in Waupun with 100 total cups to the event. This is the second year Culver’s has sponsored the Waupun Parks Ice Cream Social.
The concert went from 6:30 to 8PM at West End Park. Concessions were served by REACH Waupun who sold walking tacos and a small bake sale.
Last week the Waupun Fine Arts hosted The Del Rays.
